THIS IS NOT A WHITE WOMAN

Identity is given to us from birth, and little by little, it becomes ours to own. Thus, we become “I”, shaping this identity by altering it, destroying it, or simply accepting it. But do we truly have the power to choose? Thought and identity transform us. Can we, then, exist “without” for a moment, returning to the essence of things, of flesh and muscle?
Through this solo, I am looking for a way to exorcise this identity. To dance something that happens between ideas. I would not want you to give me a name, nor to classify me.
How can we become what attracts us, only to disappear?
It is no longer a matter of knowing the world or the self, but of transforming our ideas in order to throw ourselves into the present moment, right here. Taking the stage to be oneself, without fear of the unknown, the blurred, or the unnamable.
