This performance invites us to delve into the issue of bodies—particularly women’s bodies—and their representations, by engaging with a specific space to draw inspiration from it and adapt to it. In relation to the arrangement of the exhibited works, the lighting, and the audience’s movement through the space, the performance takes shape through a combination of structure and improvisation.
The figure of the woman is examined here to understand how she is perceived in symbolic, and sometimes historic, settings.
The dancers weave together strength and poetry through various choreographic styles. With movements marked by both subtlety and an earthy energy, UNE expresses the need to celebrate our bodies, to reclaim our physicality, and to acknowledge our undeniable power.
